What is Everlasting life? Who will live into eternity? What does your eternity have in store for you? Three questions everyone should ask themselves and absolutely know the answer too. Do you want Eternal Life? Do you want to know, without a doubt, how to get it and how you will spend eternity? If you answered YES to any of these questions, then you are in the right place.
Let’s get started.
What is Everlasting Life?
Eternal life is exactly what it says. Living forever. Life beyond the grave. Life after death.
Merriam-Webster’s Dictionary definition:

Continued into forever. A life that will live on forever. Life with no end. What does your forever look like? Do you even know? Think about it. Where will you be into eternity? It is a serious thought that needs an answer.
Who will live into Eternity?
Surprisingly enough the answer is everyone. Everyone will live an eternal life, however, not everyone gets the same eternal living arrangement. Which eternal life will you get? Well, that depends on the decision you make in your mortal life.
What does your eternity have in store for you?
Well, that depends on your decision made here in your mortal life. Your decision controls everything. It not only controls eternity but also controls the life you are living now. It is life changing.
What is this decision that controls life now and forever?
Well, it starts with one small verse that clarifies it all.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”-John 3:16 KJV
Jesus Christ is the answer to how you spend eternity. In Heaven or in Hell. Those are the two choices give to use as mortal men and women, and you must choose your path.
“Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned” – Romans 5:12
It all started at the beginning with Adam and Eve. Eve took of the forbidden fruit and gave it to Adam to eat. The fruit was forbidden because God commanded them not to eat of it. The punishment for that sin was death. However, they did create sin to the world. God had shown mercy to them and instead of death, punished them by casting them out of a perfect place and created the struggle for futures to come. From that sin, the punishment has passed on to all persons from the lineage of Adam.
The punishment for continued sin is death, that has not changed but the same mercy God had shown Adam and Eve is the same mercy he will give to you. He gave us a way out of eternal death. He sent Jesus Christ as stated in John 3:16.
Here is a great sermon about why we are destined for death. Courtesy of Calvary Baptist Church and Sermon Audio.
For God so loved the world…
See God never wanted any of the punishment to be brought on to us. It was because of sin that we have eternal punishment. God loves us some much that his mercy is why we have an option. He loves us so much that he sent his only son, a sinless perfect son, to die on a cross to be the savior of our sins. A true living sacrifice to bare our sin for us.
Think of it like this.
You get into real bad trouble of no fault of your own but the evidence is stacked against you in court. The judge has ordered the death penalty for you for a crime you only had a little bit to do with.
Bad circumstances got you into the trouble because of your family you are associated with. You are guilty by association and the verdict is death. It is imminent, death. You have no money to afford an attorney but the Judge has a son who is an attorney. You remind him of his son, so he calls him for you, as he is willing to show you mercy if you are willing to accept his son as your attorney.
His son comes in and pleads your case before his father, your judge. You tell your attorney that you are sorry what was done, ask for forgiveness and are willing to turn your life over to the court to live within the laws set forth by the judge.
This is what God has done for you. He has given Jesus Christ to take away the death sentence in your life because of what Adam started. You are stained with sin from birth and sentenced from birth.
“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” – Romans 6:23
Now I know what you are thinking or saying to yourself.
“I haven’t done anything really bad. I actually live a pretty good life. I don’t steal, cheat, lie, murder, etc. I am a really good person. I go to church. I give money to the needy.”
Which may be true, however, you are still a sinner destined to an eternal death.
That thinking is because you are judging yourself by other earthly men. You should be judging yourself next to God.
Are you on God’s level? Can you say you are equal to God?
If you answer NO to the last two questions, don’t feel bad. No one can. That is the reason you can only get to Heaven through salvation given to you by accepting Jesus Christ as your savior.
“Jesus saith unto him,I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” – John 14:6
The ONLY way to get Heaven is through Jesus Christ (your attorney to God). How do you go through you might ask? By asking for forgiveness and repentance of your sins. By acknowledging that you are a sinner by birth. By acknowledging that your works in on Earth will not get you into Heaven. Only the sinless bloodshed of Jesus Christ on the cross is powerful and worthy enough to undo your sins that you have committed in defiance of God and from your birthright of Adam.
What if you Don’t?
Eternal Death. Hell. Everlasting suffering. Listen to the message below, a little long but worth the listen. It explains what Hell will be like according to scripture.
Is Hell real?
19There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day:
20And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores,
21And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man’s table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.
22And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;
23And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
24And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.
25But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.
26And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.
27Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father’s house:
28For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.
29Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.
30And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.
31And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead. – Luke 16:19-31 KJV
So is Hell real? Yes, VERY Real!
I have heard jokes (I have even said some of them myself before I repented and became a Christian) like “When I get to hell, I am going to party with all my other friends” or “When I get to Hell, I will take over” or “Well at least I will be alone when I get to Hell”.
What a shame it will be if you end up in Hell. Hell is not a party place, friend meet up or a place for you to conquer. IT is real and IT is torment. Described as a dark void to where you can not even see your hand in front of your face. A place where you have no sense of up, down, left or right. Directionless and disorienting. Isolated and dark.
“Stuart Grassian, a board-certified psychiatrist and a former faculty member at Harvard Medical School, has interviewed hundreds of prisoners in solitary confinement. In one study, he found that roughly a third of solitary inmates were “actively psychotic and/or acutely suicidal.” Grassian has since concluded that solitary can cause a specific psychiatric syndrome, characterized by hallucinations; panic attacks; overt paranoia; diminished impulse control; hypersensitivity to external stimuli; and difficulties with thinking, concentration, and memory. Some inmates lose the ability to maintain a state of alertness, while others develop crippling obsessions.” Read the rest of the article by PBS Here.
Now that was just prisoners who were monitored, clothed, feed and kept in a humane climate environment to still become mentally unstable. Depression is one of the most common effects of isolation. Now imagine adding total darkness to the equation. How do you think adds to torture.
Extreme Heat.
So what does extreme heat due to the human body? How hot is too hot? According to the Weather Channel, there are 4 stages of heat changes to the body with number 3 being the most dangerous and number 4 being death.
- Heat makes you feel ill
- Heat exhaustion can make you feel severely ill
- Heat Stroke Is A Possibility
- You could die
“Heat stroke is the most serious form of heat injury, according to the Mayo Clinic, and is usually the result of prolonged exposure to or physical exertion in high temperatures. However, the elderly, children under age 4, those living in homes without air conditioners and people with chronic diseases are also at risk for developing heat stroke.
Symptoms of heat stroke include:
- Body temperature above 103 degrees
- No sweating
- Severe headache
- Confusion or disorientation
- Red, hot and dry skin
- Nausea or vomiting
- Rapid pulse
- Seizures
- Loss of consciousness
- Muscle weakness or cramps
Heat stroke is an emergency that needs immediate medical treatment, as it can cause damage to your brain, heart, kidneys and other muscles. It often occurs from the progression of milder heat-related illness, but can come on suddenly as well.”
No Death in Eternity.
But we are talking about eternity which means you will not die. It is continual. Everlasting heat stroke. Over and over again forever and ever. Heat stroke happens when the body temperature reaches 103 degrees Fahrenheit. According to some research, of people way smarter than me, have somewhat figured out (disclaimer – only approximation and only used as an analogy of the extreme heat – not saying this the correct temperature) the approximate
“temperature of hell is higher than 525 degrees Celsius or 977 degrees Fahrenheit.”
Read all the geek math HERE by Dr. Tim Healey.
Now I know what you are thinking how is that possible? Why wouldn’t the body just cremate? Glad you asked. “Cremation is between 1400 to 1800 degrees Fahrenheit according to cremationResource.org“.
28And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. Matthew 10:28 KJV
What Does This Mean?
This means that people (other humans) can kill the “body” (our flesh and bones) and only that. Yet we fear death as human beings. What we should fear is our spiritual death which can only be accomplished by God. We should fear God’s wrath and judgment on our spiritual life as that is eternal or never-ending. A continual death by pain, suffering, empty, dark, isolated, firey torture forever and ever without end.
The Gamble.
What if none of this is true? What if you do not believe there is a heaven or hell? What if you do not believe God exists and we began from a chemical explosion?
Then when you die, you die and life ceases to exist. You go back to being dust. Maybe you get reincarnated into something else or whatever you believe. You have nothing to lose in this case.
BUT…
What if your wrong and the Bible is correct? What if everything that is mentioned here about hell and the eternal afterlife is correct? What if there really are only two options? Heaven or Hell?
You have everything to lose at that point. An Eternity of God’s gift or an Eternity of God’s punishment. Very serious decision to make at really does change the outcome of your entire life. Don’t turn your back on God and his gift. Repent today to the God in Heaven for being a sinner and claim your place in Heaven. Do not gamble with your eternity. It is forever.
“ 1Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
2In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
3And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
4And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.
5Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?
6Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” – John 14:1-6 KJV
